2 Sewing Rebellion Days: Sat + Sun, Nov. 5-6

Saturday, November 5
Sunday, November 6
11:00 am – 3:00 pm — During Brunch!
For this Rebellion: the Faux Fraus want you to learn how to use a t-shirt for the production of casserole and bowl covers, coasters, coozies, post holders, and shopping bags. Due to the fast fashion production of t-shirts, used t-shirts are a natural textile resource, which can be used for just about anything.
The Faux Fraus will take over the back table of Thank You For Coming and along with you, will sew, sew, sew away. There will be a limited brunch menu (that still includes your favorites) available during this event. Thank You For Coming is proud to host the LA chapter of the Sewing Rebellion. We pledge to train to be leaders of the Sewing Rebellion, and to emancipate our neighbors from the chains of disposable fashion.
Please note, this event is free, and first come, first serve.

The Sewing Rebellion is a free workshop, which began in Chicago Fall of 2006 and now has a home base in Long Beach CA, at the Institute 4 Labor Generosity Workers & Uniforms. Participants of the Sewing Rebellion are invited to emancipate themselves from the global garment industry by learning how to alter, mend and make their own garments and accessories! Hosted by Frau Fiber and an army of Faux Fraus, the Sewing Rebellion distributes knowledge of the garment industry, pattern making and sewing, and encourages the reuse, renovation and recycling of existing garments and textiles in the creation of unique items tailored to individual tastes and body shapes.
